I had the pleasure to meet Sacramento when I visited Malaga. This woman is not afraid of color and bold prints and true to style she was wearing both. Of course I had to feature her in my style interview series and ask about her vision on style!
Can you tell us a little bit more about yourself?
Spanish –English teaching and nutrition are part of my background. I took early retirement at 50 and decided to live life to the fullest every single day.
As a point of reference which age group do you belong to or perhaps you are willing to share your age?
Over 50 for certain, hahaha.
Can you tell us a bit more about your website Mis Papelicos and why you created it?
Mis Papelicos is a blog about my passion for fashion, my fashion, and everything that moves my core. I paint my days with clothes and compose with them as a means of art and self-expression.
How would you describe your own style?
Quirky and fun.
What would you consider the most important components of your style?
The clash of colours and prints and the composition of textures.
Where do you live and how does that influence your style?
I live in Málaga- Andalusia – Spain. I had a thing for clothes way before I was conscious about where I lived.
Do you feel you have a signature style?
I do hope so.
What inspires your outfit choices the most?
- My own eye, developed over the years.
- Clothes themselves.
- Street style.
Do you take things like color profiling or body type into account when you dress?
I don´t. I just wear what makes me feel wonderful.
Has your style changed at all after turning 40?
I never care very much about what people thought about me or the way I dressed. If at all I have grown more and more free and daring with age.
Do you believe in dressing ‘age appropriately’ and what does it mean to you?
I do not.
Would you say that at this stage of your life you are now more, or less interested in fashion, style and the way you look?
I am more interested than ever.
Why is the way you look important to you?
For me getting dressed is like composing the tune of the day. I mix clothes and wear art on my skin.
Do you follow trends? And if yes, which trends excite you at the moment?
I do not follow trends. I believe that the true trend setters are walking on the street.
Do you have any fashion and style tips for women over 40?
- Be yourself.
- Be free with clothes.
- Wear what makes you feel happy and wonderful!
